Interessi scientifici attuali:
La ricerca è focalizzata sullo studio di problematiche riguardanti lo sviluppo normale e l’insorgenza di patologie negli insetti. Il modello usato è Drosophila melanogaster. Le linee di ricerca includono lo studio delle interazioni che avvengono tra i parassitoidi ed i loro ospiti e le alterazioni della risposta immunitaria e dello sviluppo degli insetti indotte da fattori biotici e abiotici.
Premi: Vincitore del Premio Cozzarelli PNAS 2013 (National Academy of Sciences U.S.A.), premiato per il miglior articolo pubblicato sulla rivista PNAS (Scienze Biologiche Applicate).

Current scientific interests: The research is focused on the study of issues related to the normal development and the onset of disease in insects. The model used is Drosophila melanogaster. The lines of research include the interactions between parasitoids and their hosts and the changes in the immune response and insect development induced by biotic and abiotic factors.
Prizes: Recipient of PNAS Cozzarelli Prize 2013 (National Academy of Sciences U.S.A.), awarded to the best paper published in PNAS (Applied Biological Sciences).
